Teachers like to assign students writing an essay about their vacation or some holidays. After Christmas vacation, students come to school and they need to describe the way the spent Christmas. For many students it is quite a difficult task, because they can hardly think of something new and write common things in their essay. Indeed, not many children are lucky to spend Christmas or winter vacation skiing or at some exotic place. Instead, they watch TV or go to various Internet pages, watching funny links. Anyway, teachers should motivate students to express their vision of this holiday. Because despite the way we spend Christmas, we all have our feelings about this holiday and it is good if students can express those feelings.

There are many books, CDs, courses that are to improve one’s writing. Besides, today students may find a lot of very useful writing tips in the Internet and apply those when writing. Even after graduation writing skills will be in need, for example, when former students will face the necessity of resume writing.

And that has its logic, because physicians cure us and thus are in charge of society’s health as a whole. To be a physician is extremely responsible and no wonder that it requires perfect education and qualifications.

Along with providing knowledge, teachers should also stimulate students’ thinking. Actually, we can get knowledge in any sphere if we want that, but what is really crucial is to know how to use that knowledge and how to apply it. That is why it is really great if teachers come up with suggestions on how to teach students think and if they manage to put those suggestions into life. Thinking is the basis, while knowledge adds to this basis and provides overall intellectual activity. If a person is able to come up with new ideas it will mean eventual success. For this reason, from first days at school children have to get not only information but get an impetus to develop thinking.

Firstly, because a student has to express his original point of view and that is not an easy task. Not all students are aware of some social problems and not all students have their vision. Besides, if you have to write an essay about socially important issues, you have to search for information and conduct even kind of a research in order to be acquainted with the problem. Of course, one cannot forget that to write a good essay one needs to have nice writing skills or at least follow tips. Some teachers even develop their lists of tips and offer to students to make writing process a bit easier.

Literature classes are quite popular among students, especially those who love to reflect and speak about their reflections. But literature classes are necessary not only for lovers of humanities, but for all students, because studying literature enriches personality. Indeed, when you read books and, especially, when you discuss stories, plots, hidden senses, you develop your thinking and get emotional satisfaction. Sure, that cannot be attributed to all students, because some people do not like to share their thoughts or just do not enjoy literature. But even they eventually have to write some literature review and that may cause certain difficulties to them. But today there are so many resources and links to databases of reviews and other useful writing that even those who do not like literature may found helpful information and tips on how to write their essays. Sure, some students get real pleasure from writing essays, especially literary essays and give way to their imagination and reflections while writing.

No wonder. All people are afraid of being estimated; especially if they feel that they didn’t do all they had to. That is just for all spheres of life, but education is even more characterized with such fears of checks. Because teaching itself presupposes that sooner or later those who are taught have to be evaluated and their progress has to be tracked and estimated. And facing the necessity to be evaluated is almost always stressful. Besides, students are often afraid of bad grades, because they are afraid of disappointing their parents or teachers. That is why a student will rather write an article to school digest then pass some test.

For example most people who like literature like to reflect on various books, heroes, literature concepts and genres, etc. But what about students who are better in solving mathematics tasks or enjoy some technical disciplines? They also need to be taught on how to write texts and how to express viewpoint in a written form. Professional teachers know various methods of teaching and they should find some suitable ones for those who absolutely dislike essay writing, because despite our specialization we all need to know at least basics on how to express what we think in a written form.
